Summary: Acts as a appraiser/buyer of precious metals, jewelry, and coins. Follows rules and guidelines regarding the evaluation process and proper payment of precious metals, jewelry, and coins by performing the following duties. Maintains productivity levels set by the company.


Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Customer service.*

  • Engages and greets customers in a friendly professional manner.*

  • Responsible for the proper and accurate completion of customer invoices, being attentive to all details and required information.*

  • Assists in the setup and breakdown of all materials and displays in the store assigned.*

  • Provides proper authentication and evaluation of all prospective merchandise to be purchased/loaned.*

  • Pays attention to pay rate for all items purchased/loaned in accordance to current rate and company policies.*

  • Keeps up with new standards, pricing techniques, and industry standards within the company’s current market industry.*

  • Responsible for determining merchandise price and value by using various internet sites or by item weight.*

  • Responsible for purchase/loan transactions to ensure collection of merchandise and proper distribution of funds.*

  • Follows all company policies and set standards, paying special attention to safety.*

  • Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external clientele.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.




Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer.


Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and prior customer service experience preferred.
